Last term, Ms Kim and Ms Maeili’s year 5/6 Koalas visited Parliament House as part of HASS. Studying democracy and how legislations are voted on and passed in Parliament. Matt Cowdrey guided the class on a tour through Parliament House, where they sat in the House of Representatives (Green Room) and Legislative Council (Red Room). Students could then debate some issues that they previously discussed in the classroom and get a feel for what goes on in everyday Parliament and how laws are voted on.
