Jayden Wood and Sage-Ella Carr are winners for the Mayoral Make-A-Book Literacy Challenge from Fulham Gardens Primary School for 2024.
This year was another incredible year – with 630 participants, who created 584 original books – across all different genres and formats! Among these, 49 outstanding books were chosen as winners.
Mayor Angela Evans congratulated all the talented students who participated in our annual book-making competition.
“With more than 500 outstanding books – this year’s stories were diverse, creative, and full of imagination. With so many thought-provoking and original stories, our judges found choosing the winners incredibly challenging!” Mayor Evans said.
“Although not everyone can take home a prize, the vision and dedication of all participants truly shined through. And to all our student storytellers out there: keep reading, keep writing, keep illustrating… and remember that your creative imagination is your special gift to the world. Thank you for sharing your stories with us.”
Winning students were honoured in person by Mayor Angela Evans, at a ceremony at Woodville Town Hall in September.
