Fulham Gardens Primary School adventured on their camp earlier this year to Arbury Park Outdoor School. On Wednesday 18th – Friday 20th May 2022 the students from years 3-6, teachers and SSO’s set off by bus, stopping at Bridgewater oval to enjoy lunch, play on the playground and creek before a short hike to Arbury Park. Exploring the camp ground on arrival and forest walks were on the agenda for the afternoon, followed by well earned dinner and anticipated night hike through the forest. Students equipped with flash lights and torches set out to see what the forest had in store for them. Excited to find fairy houses and other delightful creatures hidden amongst the forest floor.

The chill of the morning air saw the early risers set up for breakfast, while students huddled together in their dorms enjoying the sleep in. Preparing for their team challenges that day, some students enjoyed Bush Survival while others dove straight into Freshwater Life activities. Lunch was enjoyed in the on site cafeteria before an afternoon of orienteering, maps and symbols, and composting activities had students getting their hands dirty but having lots of fun. Warming up in the evening around the campfire, students roasted marshmallows while teachers did their best to perform in a talent show to entertain the crowd.

Waking up on the last morning had the students packing their belongings and cleaning the dorms before another fun filled morning of bush activities and nature play. Camp reflections were shared amongst the group before heading back to Fulham Gardens Primary School.
