This term, students in Years 4–6 have been participating in the Bike Ed program. Bike Ed offers a really fun and safe environment for students to learn about roads, different traffic environments, and important road laws. In the first two weeks students practiced basic skills such as riding a bike in a straight line, signaling correctly and looking over their shoulder to check for traffic. These skills are important for safe cycling.

In the third week, the instructors assessed each student to make sure they understood and could demonstrate these safety skills, ensuring everyone was confident and ready for the next stage.

In weeks four and five, students headed out in small groups beyond the school grounds to apply their learning on local roads. They gained valuable practical experience with navigating roundabouts, T-intersections, and right turns, as well as safe ways to move around parked vehicles. Bike Ed has helped students increase both their confidence and understanding of road safety. Purnima & Sofia – Room 7
