Last week Playgroup enjoyed making and playing with all things to do with ice skating. We made paper plate ice skating people with lots of cotton balls for snow. Some children made 3 or 4 to take home.
The indoor sensory table was focused on fine motor skills with rice play and tennis balls. The tennis balls were a great challenge for the older children.
On the main floor there was a makeshift ice-skating rink set up with roller boards used as skates. The rink had a special visitor, Frosty, who received lots of kisses and hugs from the children.
Outside some of our toys went ice skating. They slid across the tub and into the ice cubes. Other sea animals went for a swim in an icy sea, and the children learnt how cold and slippery ice is and how it melts with the heat. Our resident Ukulele master Mr. Rick was the star of the show with some great songs and uke playing.
