The Premier’s Reading Challenge is a literacy engagement program. It was introduced by the Premier in 2004. It began as a way to encourage students to read more books and improve literacy. Students are required to read 12 books between the beginning of the school year and early September. Most times, students surpass this target. They especially love library lessons where imagination and reading bring the books to life!

2023 marks 20 years of the Premier’s Reading Challenge in South Australia!

Today, FGPS invited special guest Matt Cowdrey to hand out the medals. From certificates to Hall of Fame medals, students are always excited to be rewarded for their efforts throughout the year.
