Our zoo Excursion

Arshnoor Kaur- Room 2 Bees

On Thursday 6th June, we visited the Adelaide Zoo and the beautiful Botanic Garden. We went with the wizards. In our classes we have been reading the Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl. We caught the bus the number is H33. And l was sitting with Emma, and we had so much fun.

Then we arrived at the Botanic Gardens, and we ate healthy snack or recess then we had to walk all the way to the Adelaide Zoo. We saw the bats, but they were flying foxes.

Then we got to the zoo, and we got so excited. We saw the alligator and they were sleeping. Then we walked to the goats and snake’s – I love them! Next, we saw the giraffe’s and the meerkats.

Then we saw Ms. Tori’s group they were with the monkeys, and they said “hello” to us.

Lunch we had the best lunch ever, because I sat with Layla and Emma.

Finally, we went to saw the pandas and I wanted to hug them.

Then we walked to the bus stop, and we got back to school, and we got lollipops!

It was so much fun!

Almira Ahmed – Room 1 Wizards

On Thursday, Room 1 and 2 went to the Adelaide Zoo. We left to go to our public bus at nine thirty. Before we went to the Adelaide Zoo, we went to Botanic Gardens to eat our fruit and recess. Then we got into our 4 groups. I was in Ms. Maria’s group with two university students and some other school students. We went to the Adelaide Zoo because we are studying Roald Dahl and The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl.

Once we were at the Adelaide Zoo we first came across penguins and alligators. Once we got deeper into the Zoo, we saw small-clawed otters. Fun fact this active mammal is the smallest otter in the world! We went past yellow- footed rock wallabies, goats, snakes, lizards, corn snake, pig nosed turtle, rattlesnake and a quokka. That’s some of the animals we saw! My favourite animal was the small-clawed otters. We had to take pictures of the animals that were in the Enormous Crocodile, which were a crocodile, a similar bird to the Roly Poly Bird from the book because they are fictional, elephant, monkey and a hippopotamus.

After we were done walking past lots of animals we went and sat down next to a monkey cage and ate lunch. After we ate lunch, we went through a bird cage and then we left the Adelaide Zoo and went to the bus stop. We lined up across a gate and waited for our bus. Once we got back to school, we did some meditation in our class and then we went home with our parents.

That was our experience at the Adelaide Zoo

                                             Bye!!!
