Starting the school year with an afternoon in the garden was a treat for the Year 3 Wizards last week, and luckily, they had the perfect weather to be outside! Thanks to the parents who looked after our beautiful chickens and gardens over the school holiday break, students returned to ripe red tomatoes, plump eggplants, fragrant basil, bursting figs and plenty of fresh laid eggs.
The learning intention for the class was sustainability and health, so utilising the ingredients available, the wizards fried eggplant, chopped the tomatoes and toasted the Turkish bread to make tasty bruschetta for lunch.
