Our new PE teacher, Jess Smith has organised some great sporting programs at FGPS this term, with some exciting opportunities to come. This week, students played hockey through Hockey SA. With the indoor and outdoor facilities at FGPS, students did not miss out with the hotter weather.

With a new buzz around our sports and PE programs this year, make sure you register for the North West Junior Soccer Association (NWJSA) competition.

The NWJSA is a professionally run association which endeavors to teach children the skills and rules of soccer with the emphasis on friendship, sportsmanship, healthy living and working together as a team. The competition is open to boys and girls, 5 years and up; every child is encouraged to participate irrespective of their abilities.

For younger children, this low contact game is a safe, non-competitive interschool competition and a great introduction to team sport. For our more senior grades, soccer skills are developed to compete in one of the best interschool competitions available. The competition runs during school terms 2 and 3. All grades get the chance to participate in the ‘End of Season’ soccer carnival bringing the season to a close in a fun day for all the family.

Each child will be presented with a trophy as a keepsake at a whole school assembly at the end of the season.

Attached is an information and registration form. We cannot enter a team without parent volunteers so please read this carefully.

Registration forms are due by next Friday, 21st Feb. The number of registration forms and volunteers will determine if we enter teams. Please collect forms and return to front office.
